We are blessed to enjoy a continuous growing season throughout the year at our little bio-intensive organic farm tucked into the El Sobrante hills. In December, our garden beds are full of lush greenery and plentiful harvests. You are invited to join us for u-pick visits every Friday, Saturday, or Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM.
In December, the items available for u-picking are expected to include komatsuna (Japanese spinach), pak choy, radishes, beets, ripe olives, arugula, kale, collards, Swiss chard, mustard, ginger, marshmallow roots, lettuce, pea tendrils, bay leaves, green onions, parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, and lovely bouquets of edible mixed flowers.
In our farm shed, we store various dried herbs like rosemary, thyme, wormwood, lemon balm, strawberry mint, catnip, apple mint, and more. We also sell packages of amaranth grain and dried heirloom beans (Scarlet Runner and Good Mother Stallard). Our jars of raw unfiltered Cloverfield honey and bottles of organic extra-virgin Black Point olive oil are delicious and perfect for holiday gifting.
December can be a suitable time for planting potted plants into the ground if the soil is not overly wet. Our nursery offers a variety of potted organic edibles for purchase, including Asian orange daylilies, aloe vera, elderberries, Burbank spineless cactus, various grape varieties, fig trees, pomegranates, gazania, strawberries, asparagus, perennial herbs, and more.
No reservation is needed to come u-pick during our regular u-pick hours. For reserved tours, picnics, and events, we have alternate times on our website that you can reserve at least four days in advance.
Another reserved service that we offer is a guided horse interaction with Magic Ben, hosted by Karen Rose Mathews.
We have free parking and no entrance fee for you at 501 La Paloma Rd. in El Sobrante, California. You pay for what you pick, or decide to purchase, at the conclusion of your visit. Cash, Venmo, credit/debit cards, Paypal, and EBT are all accepted.
We hope you can come enjoy the uplifting abundance and beauty at our farm during this Winter Holiday Season!
