2024 September Farm Harvests

Every week of the year the tapestry of the garden beds and orchards take on different hues, flavors, and textures. Many crops come to fruition in the warm days of September at Cloverfield Organic Farm. We grow a wide variety of organic fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers.

Here's an extensive list of the various items that will likely be available for u-picking this September: Autumn berries, apples, Chilean guavas, Emeryville pink (and other) grapes, tomatoes, Italian basil, hot manzano peppers, kale, collards, Swiss chard, Malabar spinach, rhubarb, squashes, pumpkins, green onions, a few figs, cucumbers, horseradish, yellow ginger roots, lemon verbena, bay leaves, Kaffir lime leaves, mints, shiso, sorrel, wormwood, fennel, radishes, goldenberries, elderberries, blackberries, thyme, rosemary, epazote, and oregano. Flowers to be u-picked include yarrow, amaranth, cosmos, and sunflowers. We may have our first ripe pomegranates to u-pick towards the end of September.

We've been waiting all Summer for the tomatoes to ripen, and September and October are when they come into full production. Tomato varieties to look for and u-pick at our farm include Micro-Spoon, Doucet's Plum, Peacevine Cherry, Bodacious, Thornburn's Terracotta, Pink Boar, Rugby, Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye, Pineapple Pig, and Amos Coli.

Towards the end of the month of September, some of our Winter Luxury pumpkins will be ready to u-pick. Winter Luxury pumpkin is a delicious heirloom variety that is especially sweet and perfect for making pumpkin pie or other seasonal desserts.

We sell by the 'bunch'. A large farm basket filled with about 6 different things that you u-pick fresh from the garden and orchard is $36. A single pint basket (or bunch) of fruits, flowers, vegetables, or herbs is $6. Our organic potted plants range in price from $6 to $35 each. We have dried herbs, garlic, bundles of heirloom wheat, seeds, raw honey, and organic Black Point olive oil in the shed. Items in the shed are individually packaged and priced (from $3 to $27).
